![]() In the end I figured out that what seems to be required is to disconnect the printer from the network. Roughly following Wi-Fi Guy advice below I managed to get it to work with one exception, I could not access the router through the Safari Bookmarks Bonjour link which in my case is nowhere to be seen. I am tired of spending time following random posts unsatisfactory solutions. It would be good if HP could answer whether there is a solution or just tell us if all this effort is in vain. When I try to set it up as an IP printer using Deskjet protocol it fails to connect due to an error. The printer is fine on my network, it has an IP and the test report is in all aspects satisfactory however the Mac does not seem to find it. Hence all I can do is go through the system preferences but when I add the printer I cannot seem to be able to set up the wifi connection. I understand there were some HP utilities in the past to do this but that since now the drivers come from the Apple Software Update we don´t have that advantage. I cannot find good instructions on how to do it. I am completely incapable of connecting through the WIFI connection.
